The island is a favorite to many who just wish to enjoy their holiday with relaxation, and Vis, still undiscovered by the big masses of tourists, is a perfect destination. It is located in the open sea and was hence a military zone for years, but after this was finished, the island started to come to life and there were many things to show to the outside world.

You can take a number of excursions from Vis, and visit some of the caves hiding around Vis. Take a boat and visit the Blue cave on island Bisevo, a watter- logged sea cave with a blue glow, that was once accessible only by diving, but in 1884. An artificial entrance was made, large enough to fit a small boat.  Green cave on the island of Ravnik is a big sea cave that has a hole on top, allowing the light to shine and sparkle green light on the surface of the sea, creating the mesmerizing phenomenom after which the cave got its name.
