Podstrana is a municipality and settlement in Croatia in the Split-Dalmatia County. It has a population of 9,129 (2011 census), 97% which are Croats.

In the Second World War, the town suffered 131 casualties.[1]

Podstrana experiences a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification Csa) with extremely long periods of sunshine throughout the year.

Winter is mild, with a January average of 8 °C (46.4 °F). Snow is unknown.

Stobreč (Latin: Epetium, Greek: Επιδαυρος (Epidauros) is a historical town, now village in Croatia located near Split and Solin. The city gate is a part of the Greek defensive walls and is the only preserved Greek gate in the Adriatic. The Greek era knew this settlement under the name Epiteum/Epetium.
