Čiovo is located in central Dalmatia, protecting the city of Trogir and Kaštela gulf. On its SE part it is only two km distant from the cape Marjan, on its northern part it is connected to the mainland with a small bascule bridge in the old centre of Trogir, and actually Trogir spread itself onto the island. Besides the portion of Trogir, on the island there are several villages: Arbanija, Žedno, Okrug Gornji, Okrug Donji, Slatine and Prizidnica.

In the Middle Ages, Čiovo had many villages and it was a place for lepers. Remainings of the pre-Romanesque church of St. Peter have been found near Slatine, in the Supetar cove. The medieval church of St. Maurice (Sv. Mavro) has been preserved in Žedno and the pre-Romanesque church of Our Lady near the Sea (Gospa pokraj mora). Brac is an island in the Adriatic Sea within Croatia, with an area of 396 km², making it the largest island in Dalmatia, and the third largest in the Adriatic. Its tallest peak, Vidova Gora, or Mount St. Vid, stands at 778 m, making it the highest island point in the Adriatic. The island has a population of 13,000, living in numerous little towns, ranging from the main town Supetar, with more than 3,500 inhabitants, to Novo Selo, where only a dozen people live. Bol Airport on Brač is the largest airport of all islands surrounding Split.

Archaeological findings date the existence of human communities on the island back to the palaeolithic (in the Kopačina cave between Supetar and Donji Humac). Nevertheless, there are no traces of human habitation from the neolithic. In the Bronze Age and Iron Age, Illyrian tribes populated the inner parts of the island. Numerous villages existed at that time (but none of them survived).
In the 4th century BC Greek colonisation spread over many Adriatic islands and along the shore, but none of them on Brač. Nevertheless, Greeks visited the island and also traded with the Illyric tribes; Greek artifacts were found in the bay of Vičja near Ložišća. Brač lay on the crossroads of several trade routes from Salona (today Solin) to Issa (today Vis) and the Po River.

Other towns and villages on the island include Supetar, Bol, Škrip (the oldest village, from pre-Roman times), Pučišća, Splitska, Postira, Nerežišća, Donji Humac, Milna, Mirca, Murvica, Gornji Humac, Dol, Sutivan, Sumartin, Praznica, Povlja, Dračevica, Ložišća, Bobovišća na moru and many more.
Other places of interest are the Blaca hermitage and Drakonjina špilja.

Building land for sale, Trogir, Croatia

Regular shaped land with already excavated basement area. It is suitable for a family house or an apartment building. Approachable from Trogir side and from the road. It is on a quiet location with wonderful views of Trogir, Split, sea and islands.

Trogir (Latin: Tragurium; Greek: Τραγύριον or Τραγούριον, Trogkir; Italian: Traù; Hungarian: Trau) is a historic town and harbour on the Adriatic coast in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia, with a population of 12,995 (2001) and a total municipality population of 13,322 (2001). The historic city of Trogir is situated on a small island between the Croatian mainland and the island of Čiovo. It lies 27 kilometres west of the city of Split.
Trogir is an excellent example of urban continuity. The orthogonal street plan of this island settlement originates from the Hellenic era – consecutive rulers continued to decorate it with exceptional public and residential buildings and forts. Its beautiful roman churches are supplemented with exceptional renaissance and baroque buildings. The most significant building is the Trogir Cathedral with its west portal, a masterpiece of Radovan and the most significant example of roman and gothic art in Croatia.
Since 1997, the historic centre of Trogir has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

In the 3rd century BC, Tragurion was founded by Greek colonists from the island of Vis, and it developed into a major port until the Roman period. The name comes from the Greek “tragos” (male goat). Similarly, the name of the neighbouring island of Bua comes from the Greek “voua” (herd of cattle). The sudden prosperity of Salona deprived Trogir of its importance. During the migration of Slavs the citizens of the destroyed Salona escaped to Trogir. From the 9th century on, Trogir paid tribute to Croatian rulers. The diocese of Trogir was established in the 11th century (abolished in 1828) and in 1107 it was chartered by the Hungarian-Croatian king Coloman, gaining thus its autonomy as a town.

Land near sea for sale, Razanj, Rogoznica

Land near sea for sale, Razanj, Rogoznica has a land plot of 686 m2 and is located only 100 meters from the sea.

Rogoznica is a popular tourist village on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia that lies in the southernmost part of the Šibenik-Knin County, in a deep bay sheltered from wind, about 30 km from Šibenik. In the 2001 census, the population of the village was 2,391, with 96% declaring themselves Croats. It is occasionally called Šibenska Rogoznica to distinguish it from Lokva Rogoznica, another tourist resort in Dalmatia.

Rogoznica is a quiet but popular tourist village on the coast of Croatia at the end of North Dalmatia, located around 30 km from Šibenik and 55 km from Split and hidden in a deep bay sheltered from the wind. Most of the island is covered with forests, while the centre shows old stone houses, witnessing the whiff of the Mediterranean.

It was once a small island called Kopara where Rogoznica was rested, however the island was artificially connected to the mainland, creating a peninsula in the second half of the 19th century. The depth of the bay creates a shelter from the wind and makes it one of the safest harbour on the Croatian coast. It is therefore very convenient to berth small or large boats in Marina “Frapa”, one of the prettiest marinas in the Adriatic with a total of 450 berths. but you can also arrive with the car while driving the local roads or highway. The marina is very well equipped, with cafes, restaurants, a sports centre, swimming pools and a nightclub so it is as well, central to the events occuring in this area.

Among them stands out the Cathedral of sv. Marko [St. Mark], whose rich interior guards the works of great Italian painters. The people of Korčula have preserved their customs and the medieval knight’s game “Moreška” that takes place on the town streets. The gentle Mediterranean cuisine will challenge the palates of even the most fastidious gourmets.

Along with the gifts of the sea (mussels, fish, crabs), delicious desserts such as Cukarin, the Dubrovnik cakes rožata and klašun go very well with the local Korčula wines – Grk, Pošip, Plavac and Rukatac.

Near the town of Korčula, there is an archipelago of 20 uninhabited islands covered with dense thicket, and an accessible coastline. Here is also the slightly larger islet of Badija with its pebble beaches and beautiful Franciscan monastery.
