Loviste was founded in the mid 19th century by settlers from the area of the island Hvar.These residents were later joined by immigrants from Nakovane. It is a small town situated in one of the most beautiful bay on the Peljesac peninsula. Loviste area includes 40 kilometers of the coast, numerous coves and natural beaches. The climate in Loviste is ideal for Bath tourism. The main bay has always warmer sea, and the number of sunhours goes over 3000. Apart from tourism, the locals are engaged in fishing and cultivation of olives and olive oil production. Around the village there are numerous olive groves with over 10,000 olive trees.
