How to find yourself the best villa for rent in Croatia?  Here are few tips that can help you.

First of all, when you plan to go? How many persons are in your group (meaning how many bedrooms you need)? Which budget you prepared for renting villa in Croatia?

Most of tourists rent villa in Croatia during summer period because sea water is warm for swimming and landscapes are breathtaking, a lot tourist activities take place all along the coastline and islands, and all restaurants and bars are open. In summer there are temperatures between 28 to 39 degrees Celsius. Summers are very dry with very low humidity. Sea water is extremely clean and salty. Swimming in the sea helps reduce some health problems.

But also spring and autumn time is perfect for visiting Croatia. Sea water is warm enough for swimming, air temperatures vary from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. Advantage of spring or autumn visit of Croatia is less crowded and more relaxing locations which herds of tourists have not yet occupied.

Croatian villas for rent

When you are looking to rent villa in Croatia have in mind that most of villas have strict policy regarding arrival and departure day. It is Saturdays and minimum stay of 7 days in peak season time, which is July and August.

The rest of the season most of villas accept 5 days minimum stay and arrival/departure day can be any day.

Another useful information for all of you who are looking to spend lovely vacations in Croatian villa: price usually include set of towels and bed linen which are changed once or twice per week, final cleaning fee and tourist tax. Also price usually include free WI FI internet, TV channels (EU channels), free parking and use of all amenities, utilities, water and electricity consumption, heating and cooling.

Regarding budget level, Croatian villas for rent are set in wide range of prices. Price depends on many factors. Main factors that influence the price of villa per day is capacity of villa, number of bedrooms and bathrooms. Also if villa has pool, this also makes price impact. If villa is seafront, price will be higher than for villas which are close to the sea but not directly on the sea.  If villa is equipped with luxury items and amenities, that also reflect the price level.

1. Croats are proud. They think Croatia (in Croatian: Hrvatska) is the most beautiful country in the world. Though it is small, it has it all. From mountains under snow where you can go for skiing – Velebit, Biokovo, Učka, Bjelolasica, green hills, vineyards and valleys of Zagorje, endless green fields of Slavonija, rocky landscapes of Dalmatinska Zagora, picturesque hills and olive orchards of Istria, to the most beautiful coastline of Dalmatia, with more than 1000 islands (one thousand)! Many of the landscapes are world famous, such as Plitvice Lakes, national park with 16 lakes cascading in many beautiful waterfalls, Kornati Archipelago National Park of hundreds of rocky islands forming extraordinary landscape and many others.
2. Croats keep tradition and care about their historic and cultural heritage. Croats are Catholics and respect all other religions. Many of Croatian historic and cultural sights are protected by UNESCO. History of this region dates back in time of Old Greeks, many of coastal towns and islands are named in Old Greek times, for example island of Korcula has original name Korkyra, island of Hvar was named after Greek island of Faros, town of Trogir was Tragurium, Split was Asphalatos. There is huge heritage from Old Greeks, which remains are preserved even today, for example on Hvar island is still visible field of Fora (Hora or Ager). This field is first known trace of geodetic measures. Old Greeks used geodetic methods to divide field so that each peasant get precisely measured part of the field to cultivate. Today this site is protected as UNESCO heritage. There are remains of Roman villas Rustica in this field. After Old Greeks, Romans were in coastal parts of Dalmatia and Istria. Example of Roman heritage is Roman Emperor’s Diocletian Palace in Split which is completely preserved and reconstructed in its original shape. This Palace is probably the only in the world preserved totaly as it was in time of this Roman Emperor, who was born in Salona (today town of Solin, few kilometers from Split) and built this Palace in 3rd century! So this Palace is more than 1700 years old.
3. Croats inhabited this beautiful homeland in 7th century. Croatian homeland includes also Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Croatia lives today almost 4 million Croats. In Bosnia and Herzegovina lives about half million Croats, but all around world in different countries and continents lives about 3 million Croats.
4.  Croats take care of their environment, preserving nature, restricting construction (in locations out of the cities construction is restricted to maximum height of 10 meters or 3 floors), keeping good infrastructure, keeping air and water clean. Croatia is extremely rich in drinking water. In Croatia water from city pipeline is drinkable! Quality of the sea water is controlled every day in summer time on all main beaches in all towns on the coast and islands. It is always of the highest quality. Almost all beaches hold Blue Flag, meaning that sea water is clean. In summer time temperatures of the sea water are from 20 to 26 degrees Celsius, which is warm, and clean, and healthy to swim in the sea. Most of the beaches are protected from boat intruders therefore safe for swimmers. Also most of the beaches have beach watch and safeguard.

Krk is a Croatian island in the northern Adriatic Sea, located near Rijeka in the Bay of Kvarner. Like many Croatian islands, it is rocky on the shores and hilly inland. The rock is mostly karst. The southeast portion of the island is mostly bare as a result of the bura winds. Bura is cold north wind that in winter months can be very strong as huricane, blowing stronger than 170 km per hour. Thanks to its very beneficial geographical position and the proximity of most European countries, the island of Krk has excellent traffic connections. As well as by car, you can also reach the island of Krk by bus. The easiest way to get to the island is by car over the Krk bridge which connects the island few kilometers south of Rijeka town, and by plane in the airport located close to Omišalj on the Krk island. You can also arrive on the island by ferry from the island of Cres and from Lopar on the island of Rab.
Krk is popular for families with children, couples and adventurers in search of a shot of adrenaline alike. Here you can find something for every taste – private, isolated beaches for couples or full equipped beaches for families with children. The sea is shallow and warm, so the beach is ideal for different sports and games with your kids.

The most important and well-known place on island is Baška town where you can find an aquarium with traditional fish from the Adriatic Sea. If you are a lover of good wine, you must visit Vrbnik. Žlahtina is golden-yellow local wine with a smooth taste. It would be perfect refreshment in those hot, summer days. Krk is so proud of its wine that it gave it a three-day festival that takes place in July. Near Rudine village you can find Biserujka cave. The cave is adjusted to tourists and offers a wealth of cave decorations – stalagmites, and stalactites.

When booking of villas in Split Croatia, have in mind that there is small number of villas for rent in Split because Split was not tourist destination 15 years ago. Booming of Split tourist market happened recently. Firstly old town apartments in old stone houses were renovated by its owners who realized there is great rental potential in these old stone houses in the old town center, just like in Dubrovnik. After this trend started, it spread to the new parts of Split, mainly beach areas on the east where a lot new modern apartments were put on the rental market.
