RAZANAC AREA:

Situated in the SE corner of Velebitski Channel, Ražanac hasn’t been touched by the avalanche of guests that makes quite a number of resorts on the Adriatic less pleasant places to spend a vacation relaxing. Although Ražanac is yet to see development projects tailored for tourists, being an administrative seat for the neighboring region it’s already well equipped with the various service providers vacation makers might ever need. Guests will find groceries, doctor, drugstore, post office, internet cafe, hairdressers and a library all in Ražanac.

Due to its location Ražanac is a perfect starting point to explore the region and as a place to spend the nights after day trips. Bound to east one can reach the splendid Velebit range – almost facing Ražanac, across the channel is the enchanting park of nature, Paklenica. Zadar is less than half an hour drive to the south, and Nin, the ancient Croatian town with its famous sandy beach lagune can also be reached in less then 30 minutes. Driving westward one can cross the bridge to Pag Island in under 15 minutes, too.

Visitors making a trip to Ražanac will probably interested in seeing the 17th century baroque church, the renovated medieval St. Andrew’s Church, the remains of the town fortress, the impressions of the old town with its partly abandoned and dilapidating old houses and the traditions of the locals with Morlach and Bunjevac elements, just like the Ražanačko kolo dance.
